Description Maarten Baas (the Netherlands) designed the Smoke series furniture for his 2002 graduation project at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Baas is considered one of the most influential Dutch designer of the 21st century. His furniture is burned, then coated in an clear, isolating epoxy resin finish, preserving the look and feel of the burned wood. The result is a chair which crosses the boundaries between art and design. Any armchair produced by the Dutch furniture company Moooi all have their unique features, no chair is 100% alike. This particular version is upholstered in black cow hide, which was only produced in a very limited quantity. Origination: The Netherlands, 2000s.
